Summer Discovery

We are very excited about our 2007 Summer Discovery program - ‘Discover Land’.  If you have any unused small mosaic tiles that you no longer require we can put them to good use.  Also we require new colourful crepe paper, wire coathangers and gladwrap or paper towel cylinders.  We will be having a combined meeting on Monday 4 December at 7.30pm at the church to which you are invited.  If you can assist in any way we would love to hear from you.  Please see Ginny Brookes or leave a message at the Welcome Centre for more information or offers of assistance.

Postage Stamps

Please remember to collect your postage stamps and leave in the Welcome Centre.  Every Monday two people from Hope Valley go to the Synod office where, with other volunteers, they sort the stamps ready for buyers.  The money collected helps pay for the cost of postage and freight for books to schools and churches run by our partner churches overseas.  So far this year $3,586 has been given to help cover these costs.  Letters of thanks from these schools are on the World Mission noticeboard for you to read.

Seniors’ Care & Share Group

The meeting next Thursday (16 Nov) is at
Pudney’s,  4 Lakeview Cres., Highbury
at 10am.

Stay for lunch so we can hear about
Sheila Dayman’s experiences at
Bethany Home in Malaysia.

National Church Life Survey 2006

Commencing 19 November Hope Valley Uniting Church will be taking part in the NCLS.  This survey is conducted every 5 years.  Most people complete the survey form in 20 minutes.  This Church Life survey is an opportunity to review our church's qualities and strengths and make plans for the future.  In February 2007, Hope Valley will receive a unique ‘Church Profile’ based on the survey responses.  Next Sunday we will plan our worship to allow time for people to complete the survey form.

Thank you

Di and John Bolmer sincerely thank the church family for the prayers and practical support given to them over these recent weeks whilst Di has been recovering from burns.  They have appreciated the help and give thanks for the love and care given.
